This is a drawing of a sunset. The drawing gives off a calm feeling. The calm feeling comes from the use of the primary colors. With these primary colors the painter mostly used warm colors. Warm colors give off a calm feeling to me.
Looking at the drawing, it feels as though I am on the dock looking out at the sunset view. Surrounding the dock is water and shrubs. It looks as though the sun's reflection is making the water reddish orange.
The dock is in the foreground which gives the affect that you are the one watching the sunset view. While in the background you can see the sun, mountains, and the body of the water. The contrast of it all gives you a chance to see it all.
Adding the birds makes the picture come together and seem more realistic than ever. Which helps with viewing the picture.. Although there could have been more sight of life , especially in the water . which makes one wonder why the artist didnt put any?
